About

In April 2024, we launched the Talking is Teaching Peer Learning Collaborative, a group of organizations that are each running active Talking is Teaching community campaigns. While every campaign is unique, they each utilize Talking is Teaching’s main strategies of People, Places, Resources and Media.

The Peer Collaborative is a space where organizations can learn from one another, discuss short-term and long-term goals, consider funding and sustainability, brainstorm new ideas for their Talking is Teaching campaigns and evaluate how their campaign is doing.

Today, there are 49 participating organizations in the Peer Learning Collaborative representing communities across the country.

More About the Peer Learning Collaborative

The Talking is Teaching Peer Learning Collaborative meets virtually every two months. Each meeting focuses on one aspect of Talking is Teaching: for example, one meeting might be about customizing your own materials and another meeting might be about integrating early math into your Talking is Teaching projects and campaigns.

During these meetings, participants have opportunities to learn more about each topic from Too Small to Fail staff and partners, as well as from  each other.

Each meeting is highly collaborative, with engagement strongly encouraged.

Organizations that are consistently utilizing at least two of our strategies (People, Places, Resources, Media) and Talking is Teaching materials are encouraged to join the Collaborative.

There are two requirements for being part of the Collaborative in addition to continually utilizing at least two of our strategies:

  1. Completion of biannual metrics surveys (each takes 10-15 minutes to complete)
  2. Attendance in at least two Collaborative meetings per year

These requirements help us ensure that the Collaborative consists of organizations and partners that are actively engaged in Talking is Teaching.

By joining the Collaborative, you will be able to:

  • Share your Talking is Teaching successes, challenges, and innovations with one another in a peer learning environment.
  • Hear and learn from Too Small to Fail’s (TSTF) partners from across the country.
  • Suggest new resources you’d like the TSTF team to create.
  • Gain access to the Talking is Teaching Resources Catalog filled with discounted materials for partners.
  • When available, receive in-kind donations from TSTF.
  • When possible, engage the TSTF team through site visits or other events.

Yes! All aspects of the Talking is Teaching campaign – from downloading our resources and using our strategies to joining the Collaborative – are at no cost.

No, you do not! All of our materials are open source, and we encourage everyone to utilize whatever strategies appeal most to them. You do not have to be a part of the Collaborative in order to utilize Talking is Teaching materials.
